اے ایمان والو! انصاف پر قائم رہو اور اللہ کے لئے سچّی گواہی دو خواہ یہ تمہارے اپنے خلاف یا تمہارے ماں باپ اور رشتہ داروں کے خلاف ہی ہو۔ اگر کوئی امیر ہے یا فقیر تو اللہ ان دونوں کا زیادہ خیرخواہ ہے۔ پس تم خواہش نفس کے پیچھے چل کر عدل کو نہ چھوڑ دینا۔ اگر تم لگی لپٹی بات کہو گے یا سچائی سے پہلوتہی کرو گے تو جان رکھو اللہ تمہارے سب کاموں سے واقف ہے۔
O you who believe, be upholders of justice - witnesses for Allah, even though against (the interest of) your selves or the parents, and the kinsmen. One may be rich or poor, Allah is better caretaker of both. So do not follow desires, lest you should swerve. If you twist or avoid (the evidence), then, Allah is all-aware of what you do.
